Welcome to Moorabbin City Soccer Club History

This site has been created to maintain the memory of the Moorabbin City Soccer Club. The CLUB HISTORY page contains an overall summary of the club's history since the foundation in 1949.  It contains the known records of the senior, reserve, thirds and colts teams from 1950-2002. They can be found in the SEASONS section. Many seasons results and details are incomplete, if you have any additional information, please get in touch. Research to complete the records is ongoing. Clicking on a yearbook or match programme cover will give you access to the full publication, which can also be downloaded to keep. There are also a few games which have some video footage available. Vale Trevor Bishop 1947-2024

Trevor Bishop, a great player and truly the nicest bloke you could hope to meet, passed away late last year after enduring the terrible motor neurone disease (MND) for a number of years. He will be remembered for his blistering shooting strength, and his booming laugh. He played in every senior team at Moorabbin City, from the firsts to the reserves and thirds and even the fourths. He was denied the 1982 Metropolitan League Division Four Best and Fairest award on countback after tying with North Geelong's Drago Krajina in the days when the V.S.F. wouldn't issue multiple medals as they do now.  Living opposite Bailey Reserve, he was often helping out around the club in ways other than scoring goals on the park.  A true gentleman with a cheerful disposition that made everyone enjoy being in his company. Ian Rigg Collection Updates

Last week I visited former player/committeeman/President Ian Rigg, after he had recently met up with Tony Morgan. Ian has kindly supplied me with some materials to add to the archives on this website.   They include a missing Matchday from 1983 v Geelong. I've also added an issue of Bulletin Board from 1977 (No.2) to the Library page.
